In 1620, some 100 people set sail from England on the Mayflower in search of religious freedom and landed later that year in December on the shores of Cape Cod in Plymouth Harbor in present-day Massachusetts. These original settlers of Plymouth Colony are known as the Pilgrims.

Contributions or gifts to the National Committee for Religious Freedom, Inc., a 501(c)(4), are not transferable, and are not deductible contributions for federal income tax purposes.
